what is conformation showing?
Conformation showing is where ANKC registered purebred dogs are judged according to their breed standard.

The Best of Breed winner then goes on to compete against other Best of Breed winners in their group (Utility, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Gundog) to determine Best in Group. Finally, the Best in Group winners compete against each other for Best in Show.
