I saw my first Newfie as a teenager and begged Mum for years but they were a lot harder to find in the 90s and a lot more dog compared to the Rottweilers we grew up with.
When it came time to pick a breed for our children to grow up with, I knew I had my chance and introduced Richard to Jeffrey - Jessbear What about Me, it didn't take him long to fall in love with the breed
Richard and I have been active committee members of the Newfoundland Club of South Australia since 2007 when we bought our first pup, Edward from Jessbear and started to learn more about the breed.
It wasn't long before this love for Newfoundlands turned into an obsession and life-long involvement in the promotion and preservation of the breed for all of us.
We met Amblebrook Newfoundlands in 2013, after Leah introduced us to her girls, we knew where we wanted to start our breeding lines from. The temperaments they gave us for our founda on is what drew us to Newfoundlands in the first place. The fact they are gorgeous as well is a huge bonus.
We are now involved in a few aspects of the dog community through Conformation, obedience, and scentwork instructing and running the Junior handler competition in SA.
Our kennel took its first steps into breeding in 2020 with its maiden litter producing the third-generation bitch for our household, Storybrook Caught Ya Peakin' - Shelby with some exciting plans to come over the next few years
